Before you book a bounce house rental in Chicago, it's worth knowing exactly what you're getting for your money. Some companies bundle everything into one price. Others quote you a low rate and then add delivery fees, setup charges, and equipment costs on top. Here's a clear breakdown of what a quality bounce house rental should include — and what you might need to arrange separately.
A legitimate, professional bounce house rental company should include all of the following in their quoted price:
Pure Play arrives approximately 60 minutes before your rental start time. Our setup crew handles everything: unloading the inflatable, positioning it in your designated area, staking it securely to the ground, and running the blower. We do a quick safety check, walk you through any key rules, and make sure everything is running properly before we leave.
At the end of your rental window, we return to take everything down. You don't need to deflate, fold, roll, or move anything. We pack it all up and clear the area — usually within 30–45 minutes. Your yard is back to normal by the time the last guest heads home.
The blower motor is the heart of the inflatable — it runs continuously during the entire rental period to keep the bounce house inflated. It plugs into a standard 120V household outlet and draws about 15 amps. This means:
If your outlet is more than 50 feet away, a heavy-duty extension cord rated for the amperage is required. We can advise you on what spec to get, or in some cases we can provide one — just let us know when you book.
Park parties or venues without accessible outdoor power will need a generator. Generator rental is generally available from equipment rental shops in the Chicago area for around $75–$120 per day. If you're hosting at a park location, confirm with the park district whether generators are permitted on-site. Some parks have dedicated power pedestals available for reservation — it's worth asking when you apply for your park permit.

To make setup as fast and smooth as possible, do these things before our team arrives:
Pure Play's standard rental is up to 8 hours — plenty of time for a full afternoon birthday party. Most families run parties for 3–4 hours and then let the rental wind down before pickup. If you need a longer window, contact us and we'll see what we can arrange.
The rental clock starts from your requested start time, not from when we arrive to set up. We build in early arrival to make sure everything is running before your first guests arrive.
Transparency is something we take seriously at Pure Play. If you're not sure whether something is included, just ask. Call or text us at (773) 584-7821 and we'll walk you through everything before you pay a dime. We'd rather you know exactly what you're getting than be surprised on party day.
Delivery, setup, blower, stakes, and takedown — all included in our flat $300 rate.
